This Cookie Policy explains how Youshare, Inc., doing business as Youshare (“Youshare,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies on our Platform, why we use them, and how you can make choices about optional uses.
This notice supplements Youshare Privacy. That notice explains how we process Personal Information, including information collected through the technologies described here. “Personal Information” has the meaning given in Youshare Privacy. Other capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Youshare Terms. This notice is informational and is not part of the Youshare Terms. Applicable law controls where it gives you additional rights.
1. Scope
This policy applies to Youshare.com and other Youshare-owned or operated services that link to it, whether you have an Account or are signed in. The technologies used can depend on the service, page, browser, device, location, settings, and features you use. External websites and services may have their own privacy notices and practices.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
“Cookie Technologies” includes cookies, local and session storage, pixels, tags, beacons, and similar ways to store or access information on a browser or device, recognize a session or Account, or measure an interaction. A session cookie generally ends with the browser session; a persistent cookie can remain longer. Local storage can remain until it is cleared or removed, while session storage usually ends with the relevant tab or session. A pixel can record that content loaded, and a tracked link can record a click. Some technologies are set by Youshare; others may be set by providers that support a Platform function.
3. Why we use these technologies
We classify each use by its purpose. A provider or technology may have more than one purpose; a purpose that is optional does not become essential merely because the same provider also supports an essential function.
Essential. Technologies that are strictly necessary to transmit communications or provide a service you expressly request may operate without consent where applicable law permits. Depending on the function, this can include session and sign-in security, fraud prevention, a requested checkout flow, and recording privacy choices. We assess necessity for the particular purpose; unrelated analytics or advertising are not essential simply because they appear on the same page or use the same provider.
Functionality. Optional technologies may remember preferences or enable convenience features, such as an interface setting or requested feature state, when they are not strictly necessary to provide the service.
Analytics. Optional analytics and diagnostic technologies may help us understand visits, interactions, performance, and errors so we can improve the Platform. Measurement that attributes an advertising campaign or conversion to an advertisement belongs under Marketing, rather than Analytics.
Personalization. Optional technologies may use eligible preferences or activity to tailor search, recommendations, content, or other Platform experiences.
Marketing. Optional technologies may measure advertising campaigns and conversions or support personalized advertising where permitted. If enabled for an email, an image pixel may tell us whether the email was opened, and a tracked link may record a click. An email pixel or tracked link can operate in an email application outside your browser; changing browser cookie settings alone may not control it.
4. Information and providers
Depending on the technology and purpose, the information involved may include browser or device identifiers, network and approximate location information, pages viewed, interactions, referral or campaign information, preferences, and security or diagnostic data. Youshare and the providers supporting a particular function may receive information from the technologies used for that function. Youshare Privacy describes our processing of Personal Information, disclosures, retention criteria, and privacy rights.
5. Your choices
You can review and change optional technology choices through Your Privacy Choices. If a notice first offers “Manage choices,” select it to set your preferences; the settings interface may be labeled “Privacy Controls.” You can refuse optional categories there and return later to withdraw a choice. Where consent is required, we seek it before using technologies that require consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawfully based on consent before withdrawal. Technologies that qualify as strictly necessary under applicable law are not controlled by optional-category settings.
Choices stored in a browser or device may need to be made again if you clear its storage, use another browser or device, or change its settings. If a control applies to your Account across devices, the interface will say so.
Where an “Email measurement” setting is available in Your Privacy Choices, use it to manage eligible email-open and click measurement. Use an unsubscribe link in a marketing email or applicable email preferences to stop those marketing messages. The email measurement choice and the choice to receive marketing email address different things. Browser cookie settings alone may not apply to your email application.
Cookie-category choices and opt-outs from sale, sharing, or targeted advertising can address different uses, even when presented together. Use Your Privacy Choices for the applicable opt-outs and other controls identified there. We process Global Privacy Control and other opt-out preference signals that applicable law requires us to recognize, as described in Youshare Privacy. Where required, a recognized signal is treated as a request to opt out of applicable sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You can reach Your Privacy Choices directly even if you do not see a regional privacy prompt.
Most browsers and devices let you delete, restrict, or block cookies and comparable storage. These settings vary and may not affect information held outside that browser or device. Blocking technologies needed for a requested function may cause that function to stop working. Youshare Privacy describes additional rights and request methods.
6. Duration and retention
A technology may last only for an interaction or session, or it may remain for a configured period until it expires or is deleted. A browser or device setting may shorten its life. The retention of Personal Information generated through a technology can be different from the time that technology remains on your device; Youshare Privacy explains our retention criteria. For the specific active technologies, providers, configured lifespans, and third-party access, see [insert link to verified technology details].
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our technologies, providers, practices, controls, or legal obligations change. We will update the effective date and provide any further notice or choice required by applicable law.
